2004 ford ranger 2.3 code 2004 intake running valve stuck open.

i am a tech but i haven't heard of this code i am trying to help a friend over the phone

I would try www.rangerpowersports.com , they have a Duratec section that is very helpful.

Those engines have butterfly valves in the intake runners.  They get stuck all the time.  You have to take the intake off to clean them but sometimes you almost have to just replace the manifold.  Also there are some vacuum lines that operate them that we have found to be cracked.

If I understand your question correctly that's the experince at least that we've had at our shop.
