What all reasons will make my digital display say "Check tire pressure" I have checked each tire and the front are at 39 and the rear are at 41.

Now three days later my check tire pressure is still on and now my check engine light is on too.

Last time something like this was wrong it was telling me to check gas cap, then my engine light came on and it was a hole in my gas line. What could possible be wrong with it now?

  1. At the tires, perhaps a sensor has failed, or there is a problem with main computer.  39 and 41 PSI are high BTW, I can see starting at 35 PSI cold, then adding 4 for useage and heat expansion.

Check engine could be anything, including computer failure or any or your sensors.  Have that code read by an OBD 2 scan ASAP, and correct any problem.

  2. I would think the 2 issues are unrelated, make sure you reset your tire pressure sensor after you adjust the pressure in your tires, a difference of 4 PSI sets it off. and check the car specs to see if you have it at the right pressure.  When you go get your parts, see if they will check the check engine code for you.  Autozone pulls codes for free..
