2005 Jeep Liberty CRD Diesel or a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta TDI diesel? Both in same price range.?

Which one would be a better vehicle , which one would have higher operating coasts and which one is more reliable? Both will be used in Canada with winters hitting -50C or -58F.

  1. The VW TDI is way better. I am not a big VW fan overall, but they do make the best diesel engines on the planet.

    You will average at at least upper 30's mpg.  

    The Liberty Diesel is next to worthless because it gets about 1-2 mpg better than the gasoline engine Liberty at a huge premium in cost.  You will average about 23-25 mpg.
