Question:

2006 1.8S Nissan Sentra -- Difficulty Starting

Only issue with my car. It's getting more and more difficult to start the car. The engine immediately cranks when I turn on the ignition, but the engine doesn't start. Or if it does, it sputters and then the RPM's drop to zero and it stalls. If I'm quick enough, I'll give it tap on the gas petal and the RPM's will shoot up and then the car's fine. I have to try to start it several times before it finally starts up. I've kept up with regular maintenance and once it starts, it never stalls or anything. Any ideas?

  1. I would clean MAF and temp sensor. also, replace cold sensor which is like choke sensor. when engine is cold is tell computer to put more fuel in the engine then after it warm up then goes back to normal operation.

  2. These cars had a problem with the fuel pump. Take it to your dealer and ask them about the "Fuel Pump TSB". Your car should still be under factory warranty if you aren't over on mileage. They will put a new fuel pump in for free if that is what the issue is. More than likely it is. Here is the info. Maybe print it off and take it into them.
