2006 Ford Taurus check charging system?

Question

My car says check charging system, so we did. We just replaced the alternator and when we started the car, it still said to check the charging system. Hubby says battery is okay. Any ideas???

might be possible that you put a defective alternator,,

check charging rate,,14.5V max at 2000rpm,,all load off,,,,and at least 13V with all the electrical load turn on,,,, note,,,,,this reading is only true if your battery is fully charge,before you test,,half charge battery will have a false reading
