Question:

2006 Kawasaki motorcycle?

I have a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle (900cc) . The engine only has 4000 miles wear. It has always chirped, whirred and even sounds at times like it has a loose bearing, but I am certain that is not the case. It is most severe under very light or negative throttle at low/mid range operation. I believe this is normal for this engine, Am I wrong? It is really starting to get on my nerve's . Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  1. Owned a '06 VN900 (which I believe is the bike you're speaking of, the "Vulcan 900 Classic").

I know exactly the noise you're speaking of. The engine was unlike any I'd ever heard, and from time to time I was worried, too. However, it's all normal sounds.

If that becomes worse, though, I'd definitely check for a loose bearing.

  2. go to local dealer and get it checked out, I have a few friend that ride kaws and they have all had bearing problem, one guy has replaced his engine 2 time,  I told him to get rid of the bike and get a honda or suzuki.  But you kaw guy love you bikes even if it is a pile of ****.  I don't understand why anyone would buy a kaw, I just don't know

  3. best thing I can say is ask someone with the same bike, which you are doing here, or go to youtube and hear other bikes (im sure there are plenty of vids with good sound) mayb try asking those ppl too.

if not go get it checked. better be safe than sorry.
