2006 r6 raven edition?

So I went and looked at a 2006 r6 raven today and loved the way it looks. This will be my first bike and i just wanted to know if the bike is too powerful for me?

Im 17 years old I've taken the MSF course with ease, Ive been riding dirtbikes on and off since I was 8 years old.

Its used and its going for $5800 with some scratches on it not major. Since money is a problem this bike is really looking good.

I'll mostly be commuting to and from school and where ever else I may go. I do realize that you have to take it slow and no doing stupid ****!

But even if I am careful do any of you recommend it?

yeah it's fine. those yamaha engines don't give off much power until you rev the really high (like above 9k/m) so you'll be fine.
