2007 Acura TSX or 2009 Civic?

I am looking to purchase a vehicle within a year. I am having a bit difficulty making a choice. Currently i have a 5 series BMW. Which gives about on average 17/18 miles per gallon city and highway included. I normally do 140 miles highway on a 330/350 mile tank at19 gallons. that's about 60% city driving and 40% highway driving. Easily my tank costs me 85 dollars every time i fill up.

I am looking to purchase one of the two above mentioned cars, i will be in medical school soon and need a car that will last me for about the next 10-14 years.

With the Acura, it gives 20-22 in the city and about 30 highway. From the research, people usually settle at 26mpg with the same driving city/highway percentage as me. it costs me 60 dollars to fill the acura, 47 for the civic and 85 for the BMW. Is it worth me getting another car?

If so, which one should i get?

Acura TSX with about 10-20k miles is (average is 9.5k miles) for 23 + tax.

Civic EX-L is 23k MSRP fully loaded.

I do not want to compromise comfort too much. I also hate road noise.

I also plan on having a family in the next 3-4 years.

  1. I have a 2006 tsx, it gives me about 27 mpg combined with 70% highway driving. But if you are worried about noise, you should not buy a tsx. It does not have a lot of noise when compared to say a hyundai sonata. But when you drive a TSX you will definitely feel that you are better connected to the road than say Sonata. TSX also responds a LOT faster than a sonata or a malibu. The Nav system in my TSX is a beut, it has voice recognition and you can do a lot of cool things with the nav system without taking your hands off of the steering wheel. Also, TSX is very low maintanance, low cost to insure and has FIRST-CLASS reliability. I have NEVER had an unscheduled maintanance problem with my TSX. Good luck,
