  1. here's the thing...if it's sounding a steady tone, that is the "overtemp" alarm.  It's not an "early warning system", it means your motor is running too hot *RIGHT NOW* and needs to be shut down immediately.

Overheating makes the pistons and rings expand, which causes them to cut little grooves in the cylinder walls (called "scoring").  Scored cylinders won't hold compression.  Lost compression means lost horsepower.

If you see flecks of gray or silver on the spark plugs, that would be aluminum transfer from melting pistons.  Pull the cylinder head to assess the damage.

Stop running the motor until you determine the cause of overheating.  Most likely suspects are:  water pump impeller (not the same as the jet drive impeller), and thermostats.

A compression test will tell whether you've damaged the engine to the point of requiring an overhaul.

  2. Please refrain from writing in all caps...

Since yours is a 4 stroke, yours won't deal with oil & gas mixing.  However, first check the oil level in your PWC.

If the oil level is fine, then you need to pinpoint where the alarm notice or flashing notice on your PWC's display on the front was showing.  If you EVER get an alarm or warning from a PWC or any boat motor, check the temperature readout or if exists (water pressure).

If your engine is overheating and causing that alarm, I'll bet you clogged up your water coolant intake system.  That or your impeller is not working.

Just to play it safe, take it to get checked out.  Alarms on a PWC or a boat are not like the check engine light to be brushed off, they mostly warn that something is seriously wrong with the engine's operation whether you are noticing anything or not.
