Hey everyone. I've been trying to haggle a price all day online on a 2008 chevy cobalt w/ revolution pkg and cruise control. I've been offered 15,900 out the door. (the taxes and fees are about 1400 in my area) This makes the car itself about 14,500....this is after a $2000 chevy incentive. The msrp on the car is: $17,975, the invoice is 16,880. The edmunds tmv is 15,451 (with the 2000 incentive). Thanks all!!!!

  1. I sold chevy and I can tell you that the value of the car in one year will probably be about $10K.  They do not hold their value.  They do get good gas mileage.  If you finance the car, you'll probably still owe about $14,000 after one year.

  2. You should take a long hard look at the Hyundai Elantra. You get more standard features, better fuel economy, much stronger crash test rating, and 3 times the warranty. Dollar for Dollar in it's class the Elantra blows other cars out of the water.

  3. Good deal, not so good car.  I've driven the Cobalt and it handles like a wet sponge.  You'd be much more impressed by the performance and fuel economy in a Focus, Corolla, or Civic.

  4. The Chevrolet Cobalt is not worth $15,900. It is your typical, average car, but it is a good car. It has no strengths or weaknesses. I personally think it is worth $14,500, because the interior materials are not of good quality.

  5. Well, as much as I hate to admit it, that car will have very poor resale value in just a few years. Face it, having a car is always a waste of money. Get one that won't be so bad later on. But, you have the power of choice so get what you want. That deal is pretty good as I see it.

  6. don't buy it.

it's Chevy Cavalier with a new jacket.

the Honda Fit will get better mpg and hold it's value for years.

have you driven this car yet?

drive a Mazda Miata and you'll never want to buy a Cobalt

  7. Not a terrible deal for an 08. In my opinion, buying brand new cars or models from this year is always a bad idea, especially since you are concerned about price in some respect. Seriously, you buy the thing brand new, and it gets devalued by 8 grand the second you drive off the lot. Same with a new model car. Yeah, it's an improvement on last years design, but at what cost? an extra 4-5 grand for the "08" sticker, and it'll be worth just as much as an 07 in a few years.  Your call dude, all things considered, it's not a bad deal.

  8. u kiddin buy the dam car it seens like its the best deal u can get around here for sure BUY IT!!!!!!!!!
