2008 Ford Focus S/SE vs. 2008 Kia Rio EX/EX Convenience?

Car shopping and narrowed it down to these two. The Ford is more expensive. What is your opinion?

I currently drive a 2008 Rio, my girlfriend drives a 08 Focus. We both bought our cars new, her Focus now has 25,000 miles, my Rio has 40,000.  despite my car having more miles, its had far fewer problems.  The Rio has had no major problems since I bought it.  The focus on the other hand has had a broken seatbelt, distorted brake pads, bad belts, and now an electrical problem effecting the air conditioner.  The focus has been awful in terms of reliability.  The only advantages it offers over the Rio are a bit more room, better acceleration and a much better paint job.  The Rios paint is thin and will chip somewhat easily,but you can just buy a small bottle of touchup and use it as needed.
