Question:

2008 Honda Civic Lx audio replacement?

I have owned my 2008 Honda Civic Lx for about 4 months now. Love the car and cant say enough about it but the audio quality of the stereo is awful at times. The bass sounds as if someone is thumping a pillow against my back window. I am wondering if I can replace just the speakers with aftermarket ones or should I go all out and get an entirely new system. Not planning on blowing a bunch of cash on the project but any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks.

  1. While replacing the whole system will improve quality all around, just replacing the speakers isnt going to make you bass better at all. if all your looking for is just a little more kick without getting the speakers distorted, then just add a single 10" or 12". This will fill out your sound really nice. If you are looking for better sound all together, I would suggest saying s***w it and making your ride enjoyable. Hope this helps

  2. thumping a pillow is what bass normally sounds like but yea if your talkin about rattling see if the speakers are blown.  If not just sound deaden and that should help.  Upgrading speakers is always a good idea though
