There was a question in part 2 about a girl who rides her bike at 12 MPH and rides it for 20 minutes to school..they want u to find how far the school is.

Can anyone explain this and how do i get the answer..i worked it out in my head and put 4 miles.

but u couldn't figure out a formula

  1. you r right it is 4 miles but hers how i came up with it

    20 min x12 mph=X

    20 min =20/60 h reduce to lowest denominator

    1/3 h @12mph divide both sides by 1/3=

    4 miles


  2. you have 2 do a proportion you do 12 over 60 equal ro x over 20. thats how i got it because then u have 240 equal to 60x and thats how i got 4
