  1. I think carlos quetin should be the mvp because of his adaption to the AL in one season. He also has 32 hr and is rbi crazy not to metion clutch. The runner up will prbly be hamilton because he has ian kinsler, michael young, and milton bradley in the line up not to metion his 100 plus strike outs.

  2. Hamilton is having a great year, Quentin has the Sox in a pennant race. I'd have to go with Quentin.

  3. Josh Hamilton!!!

How did you forget him?!He leads the league in rbi's and is second in homeruns! He's gonna have like 45 Hrs and 150 RBIs by the end of the season.

  4. Quentin or Hamilton.

  5. Hamilton. Quentin is really good, but still 22 RBI's behind and .020 batting average behind.

  6. Josh Hamilton, Did you see the HR Derby?  That was amazing...

  7. Ian Kinsler, Grady Sizemore, Carlos Quentin

  8. This depends on what teams make the playoffs.  The MVP always comes from a playoff team, so obvious choices like A-Rod (53.7 VORP), Ian Kinsler (53.3 VORP), and Grady Sizemore (50.1 VORP) may be out of the race because of their teams.  Considering the teams that are competing for a playoff spot, the frontrunners would likely be Carlos Quentin (39.8 VORP), Kevin Youkilis (42.5 VORP), or Justin Mourneau (38.2 VORP).  My feeling is that it would be Quentin, he's the only one who will finish with more than 30 HR's and power numbers are important to MVP voters.

  9. its between Hamilton and ARod....no doubt

  10. Hamilton

  11. Kevin Youkilis - if you take the major stats categories of (with Youk's league rank in parenthesis) BA (3), HR (10), RBI (5), Runs Scored (13), OBP (9), OPS (3), SLG (3), and BA/RISP (7) - and compare Youkilis with Hamilton, Morneau, and Quentin - Youk's average rank in these 8 categories among those 4 players is 2 while the other 3 have an average rank of 3.

Take that together with the fact that Youk is now taking Manny Ramirez's spot in the Boston order along with his value as both a gold glove 1b and above average 3b and you have a strong case that Youk is the 2008 MVP

  12. Josh Hamilton .303 BA 28 HR 111 RBI's.  However, Francisco Rodriguez has had a dynamite year as well with 46 Saves and a 2.34 ERA.  I would give the nod to Hamilton with K-Rod a close 2nd.

  13. josh hamilton of the texas rangers would have my vote
