2008 MLB Awards: NL Cy Young?

I say Brandon Webb or Tim Lincecum. Both are doing well. I can't choose a winner.

The Cubs fan in me wants to say Zambrano all the way, but Linececum is crazy good.

Cy Young winner=Linececum

Cy Young runner up=Zambrano

Brandon Webb, SP, ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS!!!!!

He leads the league in wins and he's kept the DBacks into playoff contention. He had that amazing winning streak for the first two months of the season.

I think that's all I need.

Webb definetly. The guys with the most wins usually win the award, and Webbs leading the wins column.

Webb because of the wins (17).  Lincecum is more deserving though (50.2 VORP vs. 45.7 VORP), he has been more dominant but his team has hurt him (.318 BABIP).  Webb is more appealing considering his win total and his years of consistency.

Zambrano, Webb, and Volquez are guys who deserve Cy Young. Haren doesn't because he was pitching below average against the Nationals.

Ryan Dempster as of this moment. He was a closer. Now he's starting and doing well. Also being on a team that's well above .500 average could help.

I think Ryan Dempster should definitely win the CY Young....because of the four named we expected good seasons from them...Dempster has jumped on the scene and he is the Cubs best pitcher statistically, he has the lowest era, most strikeouts, lowest batting average against ( Rich Harden would lead the team in this category, but he his not qualified considering he has only pitched around 40 innings with the Cubs.). And he leads the Cubs in wins. He has been pretty dominant all year, and since the Cubs are doing better than the diamondbacks as a team, i definitely think it deserves to go to a Cubs pitcher. If Lincecum was on a winning team putting up those numbers, then i would say he deserves it, but good luck to  him next year and the rest of this year. But the CY Young should go to Ryan Dempster.
