Who would you vote as NASCARS least popular driver if it ever came up on the ballot and why?

Sam Hornish J.R.(another one of my favs.....)

Carl Long and Morgan Shepard(?)

Stanton Barrett(only semi-popular in NNS)

By least popular, you mean most hated?  That would be Kyle Busch  It is worth saying that Kyle is he kind of driver you love to hate, Kind of like 1980s Ric Flair

If you mean someone that nobody cares about: That would be Scott Riggs. You could have heard a pen drop when they called his name at driver intos at a race earlier this year, no boos and no cheers.

Least popular driver?  I don't know lets analyze.  Kyle Busch gets lots of boo's but so does his brother.  It might be in the genes.  The guys on Saturday said it right if that the boo's are becoming less and less.  As Kyle wins he could grow in popularity.  Jeff Gordon used to get a lot of boo's too.  You know Kyle ran a clean race and won.  He really did a good job hanging on to that thing in a pinch like he said he didn't know how he did it though.  What do you think?

Depends on the week, looks like JP right now. Overall season, Rowdy'd probably win.

I'd have to go with Johnny Sauter...just because.  He's been in and out so much, it's hard to keep up.  Kyle would not be least popular, he gets too much media attention (good or bad) for that.

My least favorite is Bobby Hamilton Jr., he tends to whine. I was listening to the driver's chatter at a race in Richmond a few years back and Bh had been complaining about someone elses driving or something and I heard one of the drivers say "Bobby wears panties" I thought that hilarious and think of it everytime of see BH, Jr.  Love Kyle Busch REALLY ANNOYED at Hendrick for letting him get away!!!

Juan Pablo Montoya.  just...well everything.  The way he drives, the way he doesn't drive, his attitude, his carelessness and not smart agressiveness, just isn't cut out for NASCAR.

My pick would be JPM, reason..his mouth and driving (less) skills as a Nascar Driver..and second reason..does not matter who he takes out every week but he thinks he's always in the right..WRONG!!!!!

i'd have to look at who sells the least merchandise and who receives the fewest "column inches" or "broadcast minutes" of coverage. as i alluded to in an earlier question about "what driver are you most apathetic about," those are truly the least popular guys.  the ONLY time drivers NO ONE cares about get any attention is if they "fall into a good finishing or qualifying position" or if they wreck a contender...

as for kyle busch being the least popular, well, i guess it depends upon who you ask. amongst junior fans, he's probably the "least popular." amongst busch-bashers, he's probably the "least popular."

but amongst his fans, many of whom have bought enough of his merchandise to move him into the top 5 of all drivers in merchandise sales (or d@mn close to it), he's the "most popular."  amongst many of us (not all) who lived in vegas as the busch brothers were coming up through the ranks and who consider them the hometown boys/heroes, he's the "most popular" along with his brother.

plus kyle's popular amongst amongst many drivers, former and current, and he's very popular amongst the media - whether they love or hate him, he gives them something to write about and discuss every week.

so if i had to pick a "least popular" driver, i'd have to go with one of the following:

paul menard

david gilliland

reed sorenson

scott riggs

joe nemecheck

a.j. allmendinger

j.j. yeley

i can't imagine these guys sell many t-shirts, and good luck finding an "RSS feed" with many breaking news stories about them in the past year...
