So I'm looking at an 08 Senta S, sticker price of $17500. The rough estimate I was given was 13800 with rebates and my trade in (96 neon that i only bought for $2000). I think we can get the price down to $13,000.

Is this deal worth it, becuase everyone says new cars aren't worth it due to their depreciation after the first 2 years?

  1. that sounds like a good deal.

but the Hyundai elantra is a better car.

    Lows: Sloppy on-limit handling, braking.

the Sentra tends to fishtail too easily at its handling limits and braking distances are long. Unfortunately, ABS isn't standard.

    Hyundai Elantra SE 4-cyl

Highs: Controls, ride, standard stability control on SE, braking, transmission, emergency handling, reliability.

    Lows: Steering feel.

The Elantra is a pleasant small sedan. We found the ride comfortable and road noise low, but the Elantra still isn't as agile as a Mazda3 or Honda Civic. The engine booms at high revs but returns good fuel economy at 27 mpg overall. Cabin access is fairly easy, and the roomy interior is put together nicely. It also has more standard safety equipment than some competitors, including ABS and curtain air bags. Electronic stability control is standard on the SE trim and, combined with wider tires and a tighter suspension, makes the car very secure. IIHS offset-crash results are good. First-year reliability has been much better than average. An Elantra Touring hatchback model will arrive for 2009.

  2. that all depends how long your planning to keep the car for. if your keeping the car for a long time (7 years or more) it is worth it to buy a new car, that way, you know how the car was maintained, and you don't have to worry about problems.

Also, you don't really lose alot of money once you own a new car for a long amount of time.

nissans have really good resale value, so a used one would be around the same price.

the car is a really fun car to drive. It had decent handling, and its good looking and all the instrument panels are pretty easy to use.

  3. I would not buy a nissan sentra or anything from nissan for a couple reasons.  The first reason is because I lemoned my 2006 nissan sentra last year due to many problems and poor gas mileage (19mpg---do the research, it is well rumored that the nissan sentra, versa, and chevy aveo all get under 20mpg).  Nissan is extremely hard to deal with, but not worse than GM.

the Second reason I won't ever buy or support nissan again is becasue of this: http://nissan.com/Lawsuit/The_Story.php

  4. i believe main driver of sentra is middle age single women
