If somebody made a huge noise that could be heard by everybody in the room in the middle of a gymnastics routine, would it mess up the whole routine?? If it did, would the judges let her start over?

  1. you never get to start over, but the gymnasts are trained to drain out all outside noises and focus on the routine

  2. In gymnastics, there are always several routines going on at once. They split up the athletes into groups. One group does floor exercise, one group is on vault, one on uneven parallel bars and one on beam. Then they rotate. These gymnasts learn to focus on the task at hand.

  3. I'm guessing you've never been to a gymnastics meet, haha. No flash photography is allowed because of safety reasons. The entire time the other people's floor music is BLARING. There are people shouting and cheering people on. It is in no way quiet. A lot of this sport is a mental thing. They have to have the ability to concentrate during the meet. Honestly, when I was in competition, I couldn't hear anything but what was going on in my head. So no. They are not allowed to restart because that never happens. Most of the time when a girl messes up, it's because she psyches herself out.

  4. They are trained to drain that out, though I have seen a gymnast start over before. I think he had an injured hand, and he weren't far into the routine, so they just let him have another go.
