Is it me or have the gymnastics score been really messed up lately? This is the olympics and I don't think that they should have these types of Judges there if they aren't experienced enough. The gymnastics part of the olympics has also had that whole chinese age issue. What is up with the gymnastics this year?

* May I add what are your opinions of which events U.S.A are really good at?

  1. I'm sure the judges are plenty experienced. People need to stop whining just b/c the US didn't get the upper-hand this time around. What about when Yang Tae Young was cheated out of a Gold Medal-- that went to Paul Hamm instead? I didn't see Americans making an uproar about that misdoing. Oh, the irony.

  2. luv shawn and nastia

  3. I agree completly! The judging this year has probably been the worst in history.

The U.S. shines in pretty much all olympic events, but fencing was a U.S. sweep and Michael Phelps is a friggin beast and won us eight swimming medals-- the most in olympic history! I love him.(:

    haa.

also, we're pretty awesome at gymnastics, we just got robbed this year by those stupid judges... Nastia Luken and Shawn Johnston are amaaazing!

  4. You are right there are judges that are inexperienced, per announcers and Bella Corelli.  Yes there were a few situations where a gymnast did not win and should have because of a inexperienced judge's scores. The USA is really good at gymnastics, swimming, basketball, softball, tennis, etc.     I hope your question will not be on the receiving end of the scorn of the Anti American bloggers, that have been posting personal attacks in the Olympics category.

  5. Yes I think so too. I also agree with you I think those Chinese girls are very talented. I think one of those girls is way too young and have seen the reports that two of them are actually only 13 or 14 years old. The girl named He who won the gold on the uneven bars she is the one that was sited in an article as only being 13 in '07. So I guess time will only tell.

I thought that one lady who was Russian but was for Germany who was 33 should have won gold on the vault over the S. Korean. So yeah the judges didn't do a good job scoring.

I still think USA is good at gymnastics, we're strong in Track & Field, Swimming, Baseball and Basketball, and softball.

  6. You have no idea what you are talking about. To be a judge in the Olympics you must be experienced. Do you think they just go and grab people off the street. I wonder some times if this is the first Olympic games people have seen.

  7. One of the problems is that the good judges are unable to judge, because the good judges come from the nations that are competing.

I think that the gymnastics were not necessarily judged unfairly. The American commentators for gymnastics were WAY too biased. They could barely bring themselves to complimenting the Chinese, and they were quick to nit-pick at the non-American performances, while there were times when they didn't mention some errors that the Americans made.

I mean, they were talking about how "awful" the Japanese men were doing, but they got the silver medal! It was truly not their best performance, but they obviously were not doing that bad, because only one other team (the Chinese) could beat them!

(I think America is typically decent at gymnastics, but never really the best. America excels in swimming and volleyball)
