2008 Sprint cup win?

Does anyone here think Kasey Kahne has a chance at the 2008 Sprint cup? He's 9th in the point standings, with 1958 points. 450 points behind the leader. He did drop 2 positions, I don't think hes very good at road courses.

Do you think he has a fighting chance, if not who do you think will win this years 2008 Sprint cup?

Nope, he doesn't have a chance.  It really isn't his fault that he drives a Dodge and is at GEM.  He has been doing much better but I think he will have a hard time making the chase, let alone end up in the top few spots.  I think the guys to watch for the chase are Kyle, Carl and Jimmie but who knows who might get hot during those last 10 races?

You know they made this Chase thing so everyone had a chance so yes I believe that Kasey can win it.

I'd like to say yes, but I am not 100% certain GEM is ready (yet!).

This week will tell a lot.  If Kasey (or Elliott) can run well this weekend, it will bode well for the team.  They are back on the 1.5ers and larger.  They have been good at RP tracks for the past 2 years.  Kasey has been good at Bristol with the COT.  That leaves flat short tracks.  So, it they run well this weekend, they have a real shot!

No. Gillette Evernham is not a sturdy team. Kahne is on a hot streak now, but I just don't see his team holding up when the going gets tough. With that being said, he will definatly make the chase, but I don't see anybody challenging Kyle Busch.

More than likely not.  I think it will come down to Edwards, Busch, maybe Jr and JJ too.  Historically there havent been surprises in the Chase.  The same ol' boys are there at the end.

He has a chance but you never know until Homestead, it's just who gets on a hot streak at the right time.

i think he really does have a pretty good chance.

he already has 2 wins.

so as of RIGHT NOW...if the chase started he'd be like...3rd.

so that wouldn't be bad..but obviously theres still more races..but he could possibly win some more.

i'm pretty sure he'll have at least a chance to win...but Kyle has 5 wins..he's doing fantastic.

& so is Dale Jr. he's been very consistent.

Carl Edwards has 3 wins..so he'll be a contender too.

but also don't forget about Jimmie Johnson who's gonna be going for 3 in a row!

Kasey has a chance unless he dosen't make into the chase but I don't think he is gonna win it. I want Dale jr  to win but I think from what has happened Kyle Bush is gonna win because he is turing into a great driver and if he dosen't win it this year he will envetually win one.

Yes he does still have a chance if he can get into racing and end up winning a lot and the top 8 do bad.  But, he still has a chance.  I would like to see Jr. get the Championship even though I am a true Matt Kenseth fan.  Matt has already won a championship so I think Jr. will be our winner this year.

The way the Chase format is Kasey has as good a chance as anyone. I have a feeling Jeff Gordon will win the cup this year. It is just a gut feeling.

If he stays this hot, then yes he has a definite chance.

If he goes on a bad losing streak (out of the top 15 for a few races in a row), then he will lose that chance
