Hi, I am a left handed golfer who plays off of a 16 handicap.

I was considering buying the new 2008 Taylor Made Tour Burners irons, currently using Callaway X-14 and believe it is time for a change.

Do you believe that the change will benefit my game and are the clubs any good?

  1. Which golf club is Best for you can only be determined by you.  What works great for Tiger maybe to worst for your game.  Even down to the ball.  How many times to I see a 20+ handicap hitting Pro V1s ???  I suggest you go to your local shop with a prepared list of clubs you wish to try based upon some on line research. WWW.Golf.com is Great !  Then HIT HIT HIT HIT HIT HIT.....I recently was on the market for irons and settled on a club that wasn't on my list at all.  However, I listened to the expert who was measuring my swing on a computer, knew my budget, and set me up with a set of Bridgestone J36's. Love 'em !

  2. They are certainly a good club, but if you play off 16 you may be better off considering the Burner XD irons instead.  They are a more forgiving iron and will probably benefit your game more.

  3. I'm not so sure about those irons, and it isn't on the 2008 hot list so it isn't rated. I can trust Taylormade for its putters, drivers but i don't know about irons. As long as you like it and you have tried it i think you should buy it.

I have AP2 titleist irons, and i think its great.
