  1. 1992 even tho its hard to compare now to then. i think they would b fine if the other opponents upped there game,

  2. The Dream is the best team ever assembled, not because of their stars, talents, height, power, athleticism, honor and even stature but its their "TEAMWORK" that really is ne plus ultra in the basketball world.

The Dream Team would have score 10 points with just 5 dribbles.

The Dream Team would have beaten this international players today with superb defense, especially when you put on Scottie Pippen, Patrick Ewing, David Robinson, Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson.

The Dream Team would have beaten the international players today by a margin of 50 points per game. Their experience is the summit, their team chemistry is the best and their defense was the most physical of all.

The Dream Team would have not shoot 3 point shot when up by 10 points.

The Dream Team would have not made other team score 100 plus points in a tough championship game.

The Redeem Team is full of talent but the Dream Team was the greatest, most incredible, and most players with depth intellect and not pompous trait.

It's an insult to compare the so-called Redeem Team against the Dream Team. It is like comparing Michael Jordan and Kwame Brown.

  3. Give good clear answer uhhhhhhhhh okay .....1992 boi!!!!    Answer this how many top 50's are on the '92 team  compared to the '08 team....    It wouldn't be close  look at the roster MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!

  4. Ok The Dream Team 1992 Nearly Most Of The Players Where In Their PRIME TIME But Redeem Team 2008  Has Some Players Who Are Under Their Prime Time Like Deron And Dwight Howard Or Over Their Prime Time Like J Kidd Or Kobe

So It Would Be A Great Match Up But Dream Team 1992 Would Win

But If The Both Team Players Were In Their Prime It Would Be One Match That Will Enter The History Of USA And Be a National Day Because All Of Them Have Crazy Talents

The 2008 Team Is Better Physically But The 1992 Team Is Technically Better So It would Be Hard To Give A Clear Answer But The Chances Are : Dream Team 1992 : 55%  Redeem Team 2008:45%

But The Winner Would Have Given Sweat And Tears Like He Never Did

And The Other Would Have Given The Same Too

  5. The original, actual Dream Team didn't have to practice together for 3 years in order to learn how to play basketball.   We just threw 'em on a plane, took 'em to Barcelona, and they destroyed the rest of the world.

Ten of the 12 players on the 1992 team were among the 50 greatest NBA players of all time (Leattner and Mullin were not).

Centers in the NBA today totally suck... Bosh and Howard got into foul trouble and had trouble handling the Gasol brothers, who are both extremely soft, and have no killer instinct at all.  They couldn't even stay in the game past halftime if they tried to guard Patrick Ewing or David Robinson.

Carmelo Anthony would never get a shot off against Scottie Pippen.

Karl Malone and Charles Barkely would go totally hog-wild out there.

The game wouldn't even be close.   If the 2008 team couldn't put Spain away in the gold medal game after beating them by 37 points a few days earlier, then they'd have no chance to beat the original dream team.   I'm glad they won the gold and brought it back where it belongs, but to only beat Spain by 11 points is kind of embarrassing.

I'm quite sure that the Ewing/Robinson tandem wouldn't have been outplayed by Pao Gasoft..

Of course, the guys on the 2008 team, for the most part, weren't around when the "Top 50" team was announced... if they were, only Kobe and Jason Kidd would might have made it... Lebron is arguable... but even if Lebron makes it, it's still only 3 top 50 players on the 2008 team...

Since Shaq made the top 50 team only 3 or 4 years into his career, I would give Lebron the benefit of the doubt and say that he could have made it based on his projected career as well.

But as I said, ten of the twelve 92 Dream Team members were top 50 players, and nine of those would have been top 50 even if their careers ended in 1992 (Pippen probably wouldn't have been).

It's all in the matchups... the 92 team would destroy the 2008 team, even if we give the 2008 team 3 years to practice.

    1992 USA RESULTS (8-0)

    USA 116 Angola 48

    USA 103 Croatia 70

    USA 111 Germany 68

    USA 127 Brazil 83

    USA 122 Spain 81

    USA 115 Puerto Rico 77

    USA 127 Lithuania 76

    USA 117 Croatia 85

    (all this with no practice).

  6. the 1992 Dream Team would win hands down.

    Dream Team vs. Redeem Team

    REASON 1 STATS

                                1992                               2008

    W-L                       8-0                               8-0

    Opponent PPG     73.5                            78.4

    PPG differential   +43.8                          +27.9

    FG pct                      57.8                           55.0

    Opponent FG pct     36.5                           40.3

    3-pt FG pct                40.0                           37.7

    Blocks per game         5.9                           3.9

In everything the dream team was better except one thing. So the dream team.

    REASON 2 Matchups

    Point Guards

1992 Team USA: Magic Johnson, John Stockton

2008 Team USA: Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, Deron Williams

    Shooting guards

    1992: Clyde Drexler, Michael Jordan

2008: Kobe Bryant, Michael Redd, Dwyane Wade

    Small forwards

1992: Larry Bird, Scottie Pippen, Chris Mullin

2008: Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Tayshaun Prince

    Power forwards/centers

1992: Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Christian Laettner, Karl Malone, David Robinson

2008: Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer, Dwight Howard

Where it COULD be a problem is in the small forward position for the dream team but Pippen will do his job

    thank you

  7. the boys these days are nuts, but look man

    THE DREAM TEAM-

    # 4- Christian Laettner

    # 5- David Robinson

    # 6- Patrick Ewing

    # 7- Larry Bird of the

    # 8- Scottie Pippen

    # 9- Michael Jordan

    # 10- Clyde Drexler

    # 11- Karl Malone

    # 12- John Stockton

    # 13- Chris Mullin

    # 14- Charles Barkley

    # 15- magic johnson

    &

    THE REDEEM TEAM-

    carmelo anthony

    carlos boozer

    jason kid

    chris bosh

    lebron james

    dwayne wayde

    deron williams

    michael redd

    kobe bryant

    dwight howard

    chris paul

    tayshaun prince

the redeem team (2008) team are d**n good, but im sure if they came up to the likes of bird, jordan, barkley or johnson in their prime, it would  be a h**l of a fight, its very hard to say thought because these days basketball is more aggresive i'd say and a lot faster than back in 92 but one thing to remember jordan is most probably the greatest basketballer of all time, they compare lebron or kobe to him but do they ever say he is michael jordan, no. i think the dream team would just win, if they played when it was the 92 team in 92, but say if 08 team vs em now haah theyde be screwed

its too hard to pick a winner but, id say the 92 team theyre legends man, and i think the dream team of 92 were a different type of team, less cocky and more about the game than anything else :)

    cheers

  8. Yeah! The 1992 team was the best ever by far. I think the redeem team caould have beaten the weaker 1996 atlanta olympic dream team but not the 92 team.

  9. The 1992 team would win the game. They knew how to play together. There were no show boats on that team. The team came first.

  10. 1992 Dream Team man, Who COuld Stop Jordan?  Kobe's Games at Beijing is not that impressive, it was Wade and Lebron carrying the scoring chores for them and i think pippen and jordan can shut them both, at the forward position, man! melo and james will have a tough time guarding barkley and malone, at the center position not even close. You think howard, bosh, ( count Boozer in ) can stop ewing, robinson and olajuwon? never mind that bird is already past his prime and magic already retired, coz they would just negate redd and boozer, redd and boozer never entered the game unless its a blow-out. Summary, Fire Power! Experience! the 2008 team usa is a good team but the 1992 dream team is the best.

  11. Name-Age

    Kidd -34

    Kobe is 30

    Prince -28

    Redd-28

    Boozer-26

    Wade-26

    Melo-24

    Bosh-24

    James-23

    CP3-23

    Deron-23

    Dwight-22

So as you can see only like 4 member of Redeem Team is in their Prime ...

If they were all in their Prime just like Dream Team was ... they might even beat Dream Team .. but as for right now Dream Team would win i think ...

Dream Team's average margin of win was 43 but ... Their competition was so much lower than this year's competition ... So you shouldn't really look at their winning margin and judge by it ..
