  1. Yes and it will be tiger woods. If you watched the masters like i did, you seen tiger miss alot of putts that weekend and he was frustrated. From now up until the open he will be practicing like crazy to win. Besides i know that torrey pines wont play as difficult as oakmont last year. Many people state that oakmont is a rough course w/o open standards. And if im not mistaking, woods has 6 career wins at torrey pines. He will be back and dominate and will not only finish under par but win by 3+ strokes.

  2. I believe the winning score will be over par. Even though the USGA is planning on WIDENING the fairways for the US Open (compared to the Buick Invitational), it will still be the same US Open style set-up. Greens will be approximately 12-14 on the stimp meter, California is obviously HOT in the summer time which will effect players in a way. The hot weather, sun, and wind combined off the ocean will take ALL moisture out of the course and leave a brutal test for the players. If they land a drive in the EXACT middle of the fairway they are not guaranteed that it will rest in the fairway, they will be as hard as concrete.

Now if the weather is more rainy, and if there isn't too much wind, I think there is an opportunity for scoring. It will make the greens a little more receptive for approach shots and a little slower as well to make putts more manageable. Fairways will be more damp increasing the possibility of the drive just stopping when it hits the fairway, and not rolling out into the rough. If they hit it into the rough though and its wet, that will be EXTREMELY challenging!

Considering all of these factors, I will say if the weather is wet, a score around +1 will win. If it his hard/hot/dry, we could see scores around +5-+7.

    Hope I helped!

  3. I will say that the winner will finish over par due to the past few U.S. Opens finishing out that way.

  4. I don't think we will see big under par scores due to course conditions.  I do feel it will be possible to score par or better maybe 5 under to even par for the leaders.  As far as a winner, I would keep an eye on Padrigg Harrington.  I walked with him at the Shell Houston Open, and kept track of him at the Masters and he looked real good.

  5. The winning score depends on the weather conditions.  If the greens are baked out, etc, the winning score will be over par.   The USGA has ways to tweak the course so they get roughly the winning score they want, but certain things are out of their control.
