2008 accord side air bags off???

in the passenger seat if you lean forward in the seat with your back not touching the seat the light comes on on the gages saying side airbags off why is this and it only does this sometimes and it is a ex-l accord does the leather effect it

the seat has sensors in it so that it can tell where you are. it is called OPDS system. if you are not sitting in the seat properly then it will shut off the side airbag so it don't hurt you. also if you don't weigh enough (like a kid) it will shut off the pass. front airbag. these are safety features so you don't get hurt by the airbag.
