I keep hearing all the people that are running for the pesidency talking about national health car and the economy and terrorism, and i raq. I just want to know if i am the only person who doesnt care. The one issue that i want to be answered is " why do i have to pay an outrages amount for gas in my town" it has gone up by 50 cents in 3 months and it is killing the middle and lower class. If politicians want to increase the economy then there needs to be someway to keep gas low so the middle and lower class can buy something else besides gas. And when people ask a politician they dodge the question by saying we need to research alternative fuels. Well that takes yeards and decades to do, what can be done right now. I drive a civec and get 40 mpg on the highway, but it still cost me a lot to drive to work and back everyday. It is killing the american automotive industry and our economy, am i the only one that feels this way?

  1. Here's the message:  Prices will not be going down.  You will have to take responsibility for your own expenses.  You will have to conserve.  All by yourself.  Don't wait for the election, start now.

Here's a little extra message: All the atlernative energy supplies cost even more!

  2. I agree.  Maybe the enivonmentalists will wake up and let us move some caribou a mile over and let us get more fuel.  Probably wont make a difference.  The US is heading downhill, the dollar is collapsing, the empire is shattered.  This is nothing, wait until a year from now or more.  The US as the super power is quickly losing that status.  A revolution is what we need.  No more rich dems or reps that dont have a clue about what you or I need and they dont really care.

  3. Gas prices are high because the troops are overseas, as well as the hits to the american oil market that have been taken in recent years. Hurricanes have hit oil wells in the gulf, as well as other problems. With troops being overseas, we pay for their gas when we buy ours. However, politicians aren't worried about gas prices because the oil and gas companies are the richest companies in the world, and people don't realize it but they are the ones running the economy. Look at the profit they make every year...Profit, after everything is paid, all bills and paychecks. That goes to line some nice pockets. If there were government enforced regulations on profit maxes placed on huge companies such as oil, and large commercial companies, then everyone would be fighting for the buck, instead of just the lower and middle class. Prices would drop, but wages should stay around the same for actual workers. Just the people on top would be taking a cut in their few hundred thousand a year pay, if not more.

  4. Well, one major reason for the high gas prices is the fact our not so "federal" Reserve prints money out of thin air, leading to infinite inflation.  With that going on, it takes more of our paper money to afford things back in the day.  If we actually abolished the Federal Reserve and returned our currency to a monastery system which will return us back to the gold standard, prices of everything will drop dramatically since there will be a limit on to the amount of money printed.

Of course abolishing the private Federal Reserve is the first major obstacle to on a path back to the old Republic.  So if you're tired of gas prices, tired of wars of aggression, tired of all the cameras at every street corner, tired of the growing number of police (not saying they're bad, but some do abuse their powers), and tired of the same ol' bull of "lesser of 2 evils" then check out, support, and vote Ron Paul for President.

  5. What the h**l do you want politicians to do about it?  Subsidize the gas so people use even more?  It's part of the cost of living.  We are not a socialist economy where the government pays for everything and rations it out.  Grow up.

  6. Over 37% of the cost of your gas goes straight to taxes to help you. hahaha In all reality their is a politician making some money on your hard work lying to you saying THEY can make the economy better when we all know the economy can not be truly helped the government only hurt, regardless what that murderer John Maynard Keynes thinks. Economic freedom is the only thing that will save poverty levels. We need more competitive markets and less government Go Ron Paul, keep fighting for the constitution and our rights!

  7. You are not the only person who feels this way, but you are not thinking clearly.  The U.S. has the lowest gas prices of any non oil exporting country.  In Europe, gas costs the equivalent $6 to $8 per gallon,  but the European middle class has not been ruined.  In the U.S., a gallon of gas still costs less than a gallon of milk.

Many people think the Iraq war has something to do with securing a steady source of oil for the U.S.  If you agree, do you think it fair to pass the entire cost of the war on to the next generation, or should some of the cost be paid by current taxpayers in the form of a gas tax?

No matter what the government does,  gas is going to be much more expensive in the future. The supply of oil is limited. The sooner we get used to higher oil prices, the better off we will be.  Higher oil prices would encourage cities to allow more housing to be built near jobs, making things easier for commuters like you.  Higher oil prices would preserve some of the oil for the next generation.  It is not right for us to be using it up as quickly as possible - and higher oil prices would encourage more people to drive high mileage cars like you do,  which would help the global warming problem.
