2008 kawasaki 250R owners only.what ur idle rpm average?

mine idles at 2rpms i think averaging it should b lower shouldn't it

  1. Don't own a 250R but I have a Honda CM250 (not a street bike but still) and the idle RPM's is about 1000-1100. But considering you have to really rev the Kawasaki to get in the powerband it might be set higher than normal on purpose.


  2. mines less than 1000. your idle could be too high or you could have gotten bad gas.

  3. it should be idling right about 1000.

    There's a small plastic thumbscrew on the left-hand side of the bike that you can use to adjust the idle speed. There's a pic of where its at exactly in the owners manual.

  4. I am not an owner but I am a tech who frequently works on them and I can say your idle is too high.  They are supposed to be around 1300 rpm.  There is an adjuster k**b which you can use to adjust the idle.
