  1. To answer your question, YES, the ninja 250 can handle the highway speeds.  However, I've heard many people say things about the high revs of the engine getting on their nerves.  If you like the Ninja bikes, you can get the 500 or the 650.  These are both excellent looking bikes and good for beginner bikers.  The 650 is still a V-Twin motor and is 20 horsepower less than the inline 4 cylinder 636 or above.  You do not want a ninja or any other sport bike that is 4 cylinders to learn on.  You have the right idea with the 250 but, you might consider a little bigger of a bike for those kinda trips.

  2. I know this girl, also a newer rider, who has an 08 250R and she rides on long highway trips with guys riding 600cc sport bikes, so for what you ask, it should be fine for you.

You may not easily be able to pass faster moving vehicles going 80+, but the bike will do highway speeds.

  3. The only thing wrong with the Ninja 250R is that it's at 7000 RPMs (13,000=redline) when you're doing 65mph...hard on the engine.

  4. 250 r is a waste of money u will be happy with it for a months tops. just go with a r6 or gsxr 650 honda cbr 600, something along those lines. remember the bike is never too big it all in how u ride it

  5. If your heart wants a kawi get a 636

if not get a R6 if you are just a newbie safely go to 600cc bike

  6. no, go with a 600-650cc sport bike

yea, the 250 Ninja will do 80 mph but its at above 10K rpms

that constant screaming of the engine will get on ur nerves, it won't hurt it, but you won't like it.

I highly suggest the Yamaha FZ6, or Suzuki SV650 instead

or if you like Kawasaki go with the Ninja 650

insurance is higher than a cruiser or a dual sport, but you have a better bike

get an insurance quote before you buy

  7. go for the yamaha r1 or r6...i like the r1 better
