2010-11 Women’s Epee Individual World Rankings – Hungarian Emese Szasz on top of podium
The 2010 World Champion, Hungarian Emese Szasz has made a great upward jump in the 2010-11 Women’s Epee World Rankings in the month of September after the 2011 European World Fencing Championships in Catania. Szasz is currently ranked first in the Women’s
Epee Rankings for the 2010-11 season.
The International Federation of Fencing, Fédération Internationale d'Escrime updated the Epee World Rankings in September after the 2011 European Fencing Championships that were concluded in the month of July. Szasz was on seventh position with 147 points
before the European Championships. She is now on the top of the Women’s Epee Ranking list with an amazing 175 points.
Szasz could not perform well in Sheffield during the 2011 European World Fencing Championships. However, she still maintained her top place due to consistent performance in overall Championships. In Sheffield, Szasz could only secure 17th place
in the Epee contest as she was dropped in the table of 32 and could not qualify even in the quarter-final bout. Szasz was given only six points for adding in the World Epee Rankings. Due to changes in the previous Championships, Szasz captured the top place
in the ranking.
Emese is 2010’s Top ranked Epee fencer and the gold medal winner of the 2010 Paris World Fencing Championships. There were not a lot of changes in the rankings than the month of June. France’s Maureen Nisima had the same second place with 168 points in the
rankings.
