2010/2011 in NBA - breakout season for which players? (Part 3)
Philadelphia 76ers Mareesse Speights is currently playing his third NBA season. Just last year, he was able to come up with consistent and surprising performances to prove that he was worth the try. As the world now recognises his talent, Mareesse is expected to pay rich dividends for the 76ers largely because Philadelphia has traded away some of their key players. This is why Speights’ chances of making it to the starting team have increased.
Philadelphia will now depend more on Mareesse and he will be expected to come up with consistent and good performances. With most players in Philadelphia’s line-up playing as guards, Speights chances of starting with the 76ers have increased. Speights will be scoring most of his points through offensive rebounds, drives and kicks. Experts have come up with the fact that Speights will end with 11 points per game and 8 rebounds per game at the end of the 2010/2011 season.
Rodrigue Beaubois, the Dallas Mavericks guard, wasn’t able to make it to the French national team after he broke his foot in training during the summers. Being one of the youngest players in the game, Rodrigue Beaubois is looking to support the Mavericks with his talent and young blood so that they can progress into the playoffs and finals. An ageing Jason Kidd and Jason Terry however would pose as a problem for the Mavericks as they would lag behind when it would come to stamina. Last season was a successful one for Beaubois and experts believe that this player has a lot of talent and needs to gain more experience. Reports suggest that he can match the likes of some of the biggest players in NBA but the only thing that might hinder his way would be the aftermath of an injury. Experts believe that Rodrigue is becoming a permanent part of the Dallas Mavericks. Last year witnessed him average 7 points per game but now as experts have seen him play, they predict that the end of this season will see him finish with 13 points per game.
J.J. Hickson, the power forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers is another important player in the NBA especially after the departure of King James from the Cavaliers. Last year, this player was a great help for LeBron as he assisted him in deadly attacks against strong opposition defence lines. With the departure of LeBron, the Cavaliers are asking for a new identity and the team thinks that Hickson is one of the best candidates for the job of leading the team. Not only does he have loads of talent but with his skill set, this splendid player is set to be on the road to become one of the greats of the game.
Antawn Jamison will have to shoulder more responsibilities as well but with his ageing body, it looks difficult and doubtful whether or not he would be able to bag the minutes. This effectively will give young Hickson the chance to show his talent. Many expect him to score 15 points per game along with 8 rebounds per game in the upcoming season.
Robin Lopez is another talented player in the NBA who is expected to make it big this season. Lopez being the centre for the Phoenix Suns now has loads of responsibilities on his young shoulders as Amar'e Stoudemire has departed from the team. Many see Robin teaming up with Nash - both players are expected to score heavily as a unit. Experts see this player finish the upcoming season with 12 points per game and 8 rebounds per game.
