2010 ATP World Tour Finals: Spaniard Rafael Nadal comes out victorious against Serbia's Novak Djokovic
Improving his career record to 2-0, Spain's Rafael Nadal thrashed Novak Djokovic of Serbia in straight sets, defeating him 7-5 in the first set and 6-2 in the set to follow at the 2010 ATP World Tour Finals.
After having played two matches each, none of the top eight players have advanced or been knocked out of the tournament so far. However, Rafa and Swiss man Roger Federer are only required to win a set each in their following matches
to qualify for the semifinals of the championship.

Additionally, Nadal stated, “I know I have to win a set on Friday, and that’s the main (goal).” The professional will be opposed by Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic in his next match.
Djokovic on the other hand, was apparently having trouble with his contact lenses. The Serb exclaimed, “I really feel sick talking about it, to be honest, because it’s just incredible that this happened to me. I mean, it never
happened to me in the life. My right eye got irritated, and from the 5-all I could not play. I could not see a ball, especially the return. It was just terrible.”

The Serbian professional called for a time out during the eighth game due to a problem in his contact lenses. Shortly after Nadal held at love to 4-4, Djoko left for the bathroom to fix his lenses. The lenses nevertheless, continued to bother Nole.
Furthermore, an eye doctor looked into the matter, examining Novak's eyes as he sat in his chair. Enraged, Djoko slammed his water bottle to the ground and slapped the arm of his chair twice.
“I don’t want to find any excuses for my loss, but the fact of the matter is that I just could not play. I will try to see a doctor and see if there is something more serious going on and in two days hopefully I can be ready. It’s
just playing with one eye is not enough, especially if you have Nadal across the net. I know I’m still in the tournament. I have big chances to qualify. It’s just that these things make me very angry,” stated Djokovic.
