2010 ATP World Tour Finals: Swiss man Roger Federer thrashes Briton Andy Murray
Switzerland's Roger Federer showed Britain's Andy Murray what he is all about coming out victorious against the professional in the match played between the two at the Association of Tennis Professionals World Tour finals. Federer
initiated the match with a 6-4 win and followed it up with a 6-2 win in the second set to improve his record to 2-0.
Federer stated, “It’s a bit strange. Andy’s a good returner, one of the best we have in the game. I don’t think Andy played his best match for sure.” Apart from landing 88% of his first serves, Roger's strong forehand shots caused
Murray to engage in long rallies. On the contrary, the Briton only landed 44% of his first serves and made 26 unforced errors during the match.
Pulled down, Murray exclaimed, “I returned poorly, served poorly. Against him, that’s not going to win you the match. I tried to play quite aggressive. You’re not going to hit winners every single time you go on the court. Today
I made more mistakes than normal.”

Presently ranked no. 1 in the World, Spain's Rafael Nadal got through with America's Andy Roddick defeating him 3-6, 7-6 (5) and 6-4. Alongside, Serb Novak Djokovic beat Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic taking the first set 6-3 and the following set 6-3.
Considering the fact that Murray failed to perform up to par, the professional will most definitely have to step his game up in order to make it through to the semifinals.
Prior to facing Andy in his second match of the ATP World Tour finals, Federer said, “Sometimes you play a guy when he is hot and you’re more cold and you can’t do anything because the other guy’s playing too well. With Murray,
we have kind of peaked at similar times this year. We both played well in Australia, then in Toronto, then in Shanghai and here it seems as if we’re both playing well. The only difference is I have the slams. I guess I’ve been a bit more consistent than he
has otherwise I wouldn’t be in front in the rankings.”
