The number one pair of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan comfortably got the better of Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes in their last round robin clash of the 2010 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in two sets on Thursday. The final match score was 6-3, 6-4.
The American twins as a result of this win also made their way into the semi-final round of the prestigious event in London. They did well to cruise past their fourth seed foes in two sets in the end and are now placed second in their group after Fyrstenberg
and Matkowski.
Seeded number one to win the title at the elite eight man field in London, the duo needed just fifty five minutes to confirm their place in the semi-final round. They served well, including two aces and mustered 90% points on their opening serve to make
it an easy affair in the end. The Americans converted two out of four break point chances to win their final round robin clash on Thursday.
They started off strongly with the help of crispy forehand and devilish serve and as a result secured a lead of one set in just twenty seven minutes.
In the opening set, Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan collected 100% points on their first serve and won thirty points in total. Currently ranked number one in the ATP Doubles list, the Bryan brothers earned the final break during the sixth game of the opening set
and maintained that lead to grab it comprehensively.
The trend continued in the decisive set as well, as the 32-year-old Bryans got the break in the first game of the second set and duly maintained that dominance to emerge victorious.
This is the seventh time in eight years that the dynamic pair of Bryan Brothers has made it into the final-four round at the ATP World Tour Finals in London.
Meanwhile, in singles, world number two Roger Federer also reached the semi-final round after overpowering Robin Soderling of Sweden in two sets. The final match score was 7-6, 6-3.
