2010 Champions League T20: Wayamba vs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Central-Districts-c777 - Half Time Report
In the latest match of the 2010 Champions League Twenty20, Wayamba look forward to posting a big total in what could be a closely contested match against the Central Districts. Jayawardena and Kalatunga couldn’t give the perfect start to their side, after
Mason got Kalatunga out while McClenaghan, with his brilliant display of bowling, managed to take the prized wicket of Jayawardene.
Udawatte slowed down the innings for what could be termed a decent innings, however, there is a need to ensure that the batsmen score at a consistent run a ball if they are to make an impact on the other side. J Mubarak, the captain, scored a decent 30,
with 2 big sixes and a four in 26 balls. Lokuarachchi and Perera, the wicket keeper, could not make much of an impact and the way they are playing at the moment, Central Districts seem to be containing Wayamba quite well.
The team has scored 144 runs for 6 wickets with 20 overs bowled. The result of this match will be heavily dependent on how the batsmen play out the last two overs of the game. As far as bowling is concerned, Mason has been the most economical of all with
an economy of 3 having conceded only 8 runs in 3 overs while taking 3 wickets. McClenaghan has been a touch expensive conceding 27 runs in 4 overs and taking one wicket. How has bowled well too, having taken one wicket and has been very economical.
Central District have fielded well and the game is looking to be dominated by them. A total of 150 and above would have been a challenging total for the Central Districts and since Wayamba has succumbed before that, it will most certainly require a special
display of bowling from them to achieve victory. If Wayamba manages to put the pressure early on in the innings and take a couple of wickets, then Central Districts would find themselves in a fix. This contest is all about nerves and whichever of the two teams
plays with confidence and composure will have a good chance to dominate the other team in the end.
The captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-How-c1707 will have to lead his team by example and chase what now looks like a competitive total on the pitch that seems to be troubling the batsmen quite a lot.
