Phoenix Coyotes win 3-1 against the Calgary Flames
This was the 266th game which took place this Wednesday with the Calgary Flames playing host to the Phoenix Coyotes. The match was played at the Scotiabank Saddledome in front of 19,000 fans.
The first period of the match didn’t provide any goals even though both teams made shots regularly. The Calgary Flames made 16 goal attempts while the Coyotes made 9 goal attempts as both teams went into the break with the scores deadlocked at 0-0. 
The 2nd period saw the home team start off confidently but they were not able to construct any strong attack using this confidence. However, the Phoenix Coyotes started to attack regularly and fired shots every now and then.

Chicago Blackhawks win 5-0 against the Edmonton Oilers
The 267th game of the season saw the Edmonton Oilers play host to the defending champions, Chicago Blackhawks at the Rexall Place in front of 17,000 fans.
The Blackhawks dominated the match throughout and scored the first goal of the match in the 15th minute through Jonathan Toews. They managed to doublet the lead with another goal in the final minute which was scored by Jonathan Toews once again.
The start of the 2nd period saw Jonathan Toews complete his hat-trick with another goal in the 2nd minute of the period as the Blackhawks led the match 3-0. Another goal was scored in favour of Chicago Blackhawks in the 19th minute by Patrick Sharp.
The final period of the match was also dominated by the defending champions and they scored the only goal of the period in the 2nd minute to win the match. The goal was scored by Bryan Bickell through a superb strike.
The match ended with the Chicago Blackhawks winning 5-0 as they 47 shots in the match while the Edmonton Oilers made 18 goal attempts.
Columbus Blue Jackets win 5-3 against the Los Angeles Kings
The final game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series on Wednesday was played at the Staples Centre home of the Los Angeles Kings. The match saw the home team up against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The match was evenly balanced throughout the 60 minutes and saw the first goal being scored in favour of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 8th minute. The goal was scored by Andrew Murray through a flick shot.
The Los Angeles Kings was able to respond to this and scored in the 10th minute before the teams went into the break. The goal was scored by Michal Handzus that levelled the score.
The 2nd period was an exact copy of the first one as the Columbus Blue Jackets scored in the 12th minute to take the lead with the goal coming from Rostislay Klesla from a powerful strike. The Los Angeles Kings levelled the score once again in the 19th minute. The goal was scored by Ryan Smyth as the teams went into the break 2-2.
The period of the match saw the Kings scored in the 2nd minute to take the lead for the first time in the match. The goal was scored by Justin Williams through a decent wrist shot.
However, the Blue Jackets scored in the 4th minute to level the score once again. The goal was scored by Jared Boll.
The Columbus Blue Jackets sealed the victory scoring in the 17th minute through Rick Nash and then in the 19th minute through Rick Nash once again. This won the Columbus Blue Jackets the match 5-3.
