2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series: Anaheim Ducks win 5-4 against Nashville Predators

Sunday, 7th November 2010 saw Anaheim Ducks play host to Nashville Predators. The 202nd game of 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series took place at the Honda Centre in front of 14,000 fans. Nashville played their 13th game while
Anaheim their 15th to win the match 5-4 in the end.
Ducks were quickly out of the blocks as they managed a couple of shots right in the opening minute. They scored in the 52nd second to take the first lead. The goal was scored by Teemu Selanne through a flick shot from 11 feet.
Predators responded with attacks that resulted in them scoring in the 3rd minute to level things up. The goal was scored by Patric Hornqvist from a 12 feet shot that took a deflection on its way. Ducks saw the momentum shift in their favour after
the scores got levelled.
They were able to regain the lead when they once again scored in the 11th minute. The goal was scored by Saku Koivu from a decent strike 14 feet away from goal. However, Predators again scored to level. Their goal was scored by Brandon Sullivan
through a backhand shot from 11 feet that went flying into the net.
Both teams went into the break with the scores level at 2-2. Ducks made 11 goal attempts while Predators 9 in the 1st period.
The 2nd period saw both teams come up with impressive performances but despite several goal scoring opportunities for both of them, there were no goals as the period ended with the score still levelled at 2-2. In this period, Predators made 12
goal attempts while Ducks made 9 such attempts.
The final period saw a goal fiesta. The first goal of the period was scored by Ducks that put them in lead. The goal came through Lubomir Visnovky from 25 feet. However, Predators again levelled in the 7th minute. Their goal was scored by Cody
Franson from a 53 feet away flick shot.
Now, Ducks regrouped and started to attack once again which resulted in them taking the lead. This time the goal was scored by Saku Koivu who bagged his 2nd of the night from a 16 feet shot that found deflection on its way.
However, the twist in the tale was that Predators levelled the score again with a goal in the 17th minute. The goal scorer was Cal O’Reilly who scored through a simple tip-in-shot from 10 feet.
The home side took the final lead with a goal in the last minute that was scored by Paul Mara from 16 feet. In the final period, Ducks made 17 goal attempts while Predators made 3 goal attempts.
