2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series– Boston Bruins win 4-0 against the Florida Panthers
Thursday, 18th November 2010 was the 269th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series. The match was played at TD Garden, as the home team Boston Bruins was up against the Florida Panthers in front of 17,500 fans. Both the teams
played the 17th game of their campaign thus far.
The first period of the match saw both the teams start off with an attacking mentality but what was commendable was the fact that the Florida Panthers were able to find open spaces. The Panthers could not exploit them fully to their advantage but it gave
the Boston Bruins defence a scare for sure.
After the opening few minutes, the Boston Bruins with the backing of the home crowd settled into the match that resulted in them making goal attempts and displaying superb passing. Their hard work and determination of the home team paid off as they scored
in the 16th minute to take the lead. The goal was scored by Milan Lucic through a spectacular shot that went flying into the back of the net. The period didn’t see further goals and the Boston Bruins led as the teams went into the break.
During the course of the period, the Boston Bruins made 11 goal attempts while the Florida Panthers made 16 goal attempts.
The 2nd period of the match saw both the teams continue with what they had been doing in the previous period. They came across chances yet again but the story in the period for both the teams was same as they couldn’t finish. The passing was pin
point and perfect. The gaps that developed were used to maximum advantage but no goals were scored in the period.

The final period of the match saw the Florida Panthers dominate the early part of the period after which the home team was on top. The Boston Bruins doubled the lead with a goal in the 15th minute of the match. The goal was scored by Milan Lucic
from a powerful strike.
Milan Lucic scored once again in the same minute to take the score to 3-0 and completed his hat-trick. The goal came as a result of a flick shot that was perfectly placed.
The Boston Bruins sealed the match with the fourth goal that was scored by Shawn Thornton from a tip in shot in the 17th minute. The period and the match ended in favour of the Boston Bruins 4-0.
The final period of the match saw the Boston Bruins making 14 goal attempts while the Florida Panthers made 12 goal attempts.
