2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series – Columbus Blue Jackets win 2-0 against the Nashville Predators
The Columbus Blue Jackets versus the Nashville Predators was the 302nd match of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series. The match was played at the Nationwide Arena, home of the Columbus Blue Jackets this Monday in front of 10,000 fans. The game
saw the Nashville Predators playing their 19th game while the Columbus Blue Jackets played their 19th game.
The Nashville Predators were the stronger of the two teams at the start of the match. They combined well and the end shooting was great. The goal keeper came up with some splendid saves and managed to keep the scores at 0-0.
The home crowd started backing their home team and with the passage of time their confidence grew. Their determination played a very important role as they scored in the 9th minute to take the lead. The goal was scored by Mike Commodore from a
brilliant flick shot.
The period saw the home team constructing more attacks but they couldn’t score much to the disappointment of the fans and the team management as the period ended with the score 1-0 in their favour.
During the period, the Columbus Blue Jackets made 12 goal attempts while the Nashville Predators made 9 goal attempts.
The 2nd period of the match saw both the teams come out with much the same strategy. They both looked to contain and keep possession and attack when open spaces developed. There were not as many chances as in the previous period.

Both the teams came close to scoring but it looked that the final period was destined to end goalless. This is indeed what happened as the period ended with tons of shots by both the teams but no goals.
The match ended as the home team, Columbus Blue Jackets won the match 2-0. During the course of the final period, the Columbus Blue Jackets made 10 goal attempts while the Nashville Predators made 12 goal attempts.
