2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series– Columbus Blue Jackets win 4-3 against Anaheim Ducks

The final game on Friday of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series took place between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Anaheim Ducks. This was the 282nd game of NHL regular season which was played at the Honda Centre, home of the Anaheim Ducks.
There were around 14,000 fans that came in support of their respective teams as the Columbus Blue Jackets played the 17th game and the Anaheim Ducks played the 22nd game of the campaign.
Both the teams made an explosive start to the match as they came up with regular goal attempts that barely went wide. Though there were quite a few occasion on which either of the teams could have scored but they couldn’t.
The period saw its first goal being scored in the 12th minute in favour of the Columbus Blue Jackets. The goal was scored by Captain Rick Nash who scored through a flick shot. The period saw both the teams making numerous goal attempts but they
couldn’t score any further goals.
Both of them displayed excellent passing and shooting abilities. The score was 1-0 in favour of the away team as they made 10 goal attempts while the Anaheim Ducks made 13 goal attempts.
The home team started the 2nd period in spectacular fashion as they scored in the very first minute of the period. The goal was scored by Saku Koivu through a simple tip in shot that levelled the score at 1-1.
The Anaheim Ducks continued to attack and took the lead with another goal in the 6th minute of the period. The goal was scored by Bobby Ryan that took the score to 2-1. The Columbus Blue Jackets responded immediately with a goal in the same minute
which was scored by Chris Clark.
The Columbus Blue Jackets pressed on in search of another goal and took the lead as they scored in the 14th minute through Jakub Voracek. The period saw the final goal being scored in favour of the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 17th
minute.
The goal was scored by Mike Commodore. The period ended with the Columbus Blue Jackets making 16 goal attempts while the Anaheim Ducks made 12 goal attempts.
The final period of the match saw the home team dominate the proceedings as they made 25 goal attempts during the period. They also scored the only goal of the period in the 8th minute of the period. The goal was scored by Corey Perry through
a backhand shot.
The match ended 4-3 in favour of the Columbus Blue Jackets despite the strong 3rd period performance by the Anaheim Ducks.
