2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series– Detroit Red Wings win 2-1 against Columbus Blue Jackets
Detroit Red Wings versus Columbus Blue Jackets was the 328th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series. The match was played in front of 18,000 fans this Friday. This was the 20th game for the Detroit Red Wings while the Columbus
Blue Jackets played the 21st game of the campaign so far.
The match was anticipated to be a very tight and tough battle and certainly proved to be so with the Detroit Red Wings winning it 2-1 in the end.
The Columbus Blue Jackets made a great start to the match as they attacked right from the word go. The home team had the advantage of the fans backing them but they couldn’t capitalize from this. The home team adopted to wait for opportunities rather than
attacking when they knew there was no space to work.
Both teams worked steadily to get past the opposing defence but neither of the teams could manage it. The teams started to fire shots from long range after this but they didn’t succeed in scoring and the period came to an end with the scores level at 0-0.

The final period of the match saw the Detroit Red Wings start on a high once again. Their hard and well worked moves saw them coming across scoring chances every now and then.
The Detroit Red Wings hard work paid off as they scored in the 9th minute to double their lead. The goal was scored by Valtteri Filppula through a simple flick shot. The Columbus Blue Jackets responded with attacks too and managed to score within
the next minute. The goal was scored by Antoine Vermette through a brilliant backhand shot.
