2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series Latest- New Jersey Devils shock NHL fans thrashing Tampa Bay Lightning 6-3

New Jersey Devils hosted the 624th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series as they were up against the Atlanta Thrashers. The match was played at the Prudential Centre with around 16,000 fans coming to witness the match this Sunday. New
Jersey Devils came up with a brilliant final period performance that saw them scoring five goals and emerge as 6-3 winners of the match. David Clarkson was named the star selection of the match for his two goals.
Tampa Bay Lightning despite the away disadvantage started stronger of the two teams. Not only did they dominate possession but displayed some exquisite passing. Tampa Bay Lightning successfully scored through Teddy Percell from a decent flick shot to take
the lead in the 3rd minute.
New Jersey Nets was able to respond to this with some brilliant pieces of play. In doing so they scored through David Clarkson in the 6th minute to level the scores. However, Tampa Bay undoubtedly was the stronger of the two teams and took the
lead once again in the 17th minute with Ryan Malone scoring the goal.
The period came to an end with Tampa Bay Lightning leading 2-1 as they made 13 goal attempts while New Jersey Devils made just 5 goal attempts.
The second period saw both teams come out with similar strategies and that of attacking only. The similarity in game approach resulted in the teams cancelling out each other. The period didn’t see any goals despite the numerous goal attempts made by both
teams.
During the course of the period Tampa Bay Lightning made 13 goal attempts while New Jersey Devils made 11 goal attempts.
The final 20 minutes will most probably be the most valuable for the Devils for quite some time. The Devils started off in hot form scoring in the through David Clarkson in the 5th minute to level the scores. The home team continued to pile pressure
which resulted in Jason Arnott’s goal in the 8th minute that put the Devils in the lead.
New Jersey Devils side combined excellently together and with the brilliant combination scored through Dainius Zubrus in the 15th minute. The Devils scored their fifth goal of the match via Patrik Elias’s flick shot.
The final period of the match was full of surprises with two goals scored in it. The first goal was scored by Dominic Moore for the Tampa Bay Lightning while the second was scored by the Devils from Nick Palmieri from a powerful strike as the Devils won
the match 6-3.
