2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series– Montreal Canadiens beat Boston Bruins 3-1
Thursday, 11th November saw the 217th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series take place at the TD Garden, home of the Boston Bruins. The home team was up against the Montreal Canadiens, who played their 16th game
while the Boston Bruins played their 13th game.
The match was played in front of 17,500 fans that saw the match evenly poised after 2 periods but the final period saw the Boston Bruins turn the tables and score twice to win the game 3-1.
Both teams started off in spectacular fashion as they made early goal attempts and almost opened their account in the opening few minutes. However, it was the Montreal Canadiens, who broke the deadlock and took the lead with a goal in the 6th
minute during power play. The goal was scored by P.K Subban through a decent strike from 36 feet.
The away team responded to this with good pieces of play and worked hard to score. Their hunt for a goal so as to not letting the home team getting away resulted in the Boston Bruins scoring in the 16th minute to level the match. The goal was
scored by Zdeno Chara through a flick shot from 31 feet. The period saw both teams coming across several goal scoring opportunities but neither could score.
The period came to an end with the scores level on 1-1. During the course of period the Boston Bruins made 13 goal attempts while the Montreal Canadiens made 16 goal attempts.
The 2nd period saw both teams piling up impressive performances but they were unable to capitalize and no goals were scored during the 20 minutes of play. The home team showed a little dominance in the 2nd period but they didn’t score
and the teams went into the break with the score still 1-1.
During the 2nd period the Montreal Canadiens made 10 goal attempts while the Boston Bruins made 13 goal attempts.
The final period saw the Montreal Canadiens turn the tables with a strong attacking mentality with which they approached the game.
The Montreal Canadiens scored in the very 1st minute to take the lead. The goal was scored by Brain Gionta through a decent strike from 11 feet. The away was content on strengthening the lead and scored once again to seal the victory.
The goal was scored by Scott Gomez through a splendid backhand shot from 11 feet that went flying into the net. The period saw the Boston Bruins making 9 goal attempts while the Montreal Canadiens made 15 goal attempts as the away team registered a 3-1 win.
