2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series – Montreal Canadiens win 2-0 against the Toronto Maple Leafs

An attendance of 21,000 fans was observed at the Centre Bell Arena as the home team Montreal Canadiens was in action this Saturday. The match saw the Montreal Canadiens play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs as part of the 285th game of the 2010
Compuware NHL Premiere Series. This was the 20th game for the Montreal Canadiens and the 19th game for the Toronto Maple Leafs. 
The match saw both the team settle quickly as they started to make attacks right from the beginning of the match. Both the teams’ strength was in the offence. The offence was further helped by the brilliant passing that they managed to come up with.
The away team made the early shot after which the home team started to dominate the proceedings. There was a constant shift in momentum every now and then which saw both the teams coming across scoring opportunities every now and then. The period ended with
the scores deadlocked at 0-0.
During the course of the period the Montreal Canadiens made 17 goal attempts while the Toronto Maple Leafs made 10 goal attempts but neither of the teams was successful in scoring.
The away team made a brilliant start to the match once again as they fired shots on the opposing goal frequently but much to their disappointment, failed to score. The game saw them in open position quite a few times but they didn’t have the final touch.
The match saw its first goal being scored in the 10th minute of the period in favour of the home team, Montreal Canadiens. The goal was scored by Jeff Halpern from a tip in shot. The period saw the away team also making goal attempts but they
couldn’t score as the period ended with the Montreal Canadiens leading 1-0.
During the course of the period, the Montreal Canadiens made 12 goal attempts while the Toronto Maple Leafs made 13 goal attempts.
The final period of the match saw the home team come up with a dominating performance until they scored their 2nd goal. The goal was scored in the 8th minute which helped the Montreal Canadiens double the lead with the score 2-0.
The goal was scored by Michael Cammalleri from a perfectly placed flick shot. The period saw the home team take the foot off the gas after this which enabled the away side to attack. However, the match didn’t see any further goals as the period and the match
ended 2-0 in favour of the home team, Montreal Canadiens.
