2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series– Nashville Predators win 3-0 against Phoenix Coyotes
The 354th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series was played this Tuesday at the Bridgestone Arena, home of the Nashville Predators. The match was played in front of 14,000 fans as the home side was up against the Phoenix Coyotes. This
was the 23rd game of the campaign for the Phoenix Coyotes while the Nashville Predators also played the 23rd game of the season so far.
The Nashville Predators was quick to get out of the blocks and made a few shots early and could have taken the lead but the goal keeper made some brilliant saves. The home team with the backing of home fans managed to score a goal in the 4th minute
of the period to take the lead.
The goal was scored by Shea Weber through a powerful strike that finally beat the opposing goal keeper. After scoring the goal, the Predators preferred to stay back and defend. This gave the Coyotes a chance to gain momentum and confidence which they did.
However, they couldn’t score in the 20 minutes of play and the period came to an end with the Nashville Predators leading 1-0 as the team went into the break.
During the first 20 minutes of play, the Phoenix Coyotes made 10 goal attempts while the Nashville Predators made just 4 goal attempts.
The 2nd period was an evenly matched battle that saw both teams attacking every now and then. The puck was seen going to and fro on the pitch with shots flying from everywhere on the pitch.
The early stages of the match saw the away side almost scoring, as did the Predators almost score in the 6th minute. The goal keepers were up to the task and made some splendid saves. The Nashville Predators attacked and the plays they developed
were smooth and full of confidence. Resultantly, they scored in the 13th minute to double the lead.
The goal was scored by Cal O’Reilly through a decent flick shot. The period ended with the Nashville Predators leading 2-0 and they made 11 goal attempts while the Phoenix Coyotes made 13 goal attempts.
The final 20 minutes saw the teams’ battle hard as they were determined to win the match. The home and the away sides both displayed some excellent skill with the puck and the passing and shooting was all flawless with the occasional slip ups.
Nashville Predators scored in the 20th minute of the period to seal the win. The goal was scored by Jordin Tootoo through a flick shot that took the score to 3-0.
The period ended with the Nashville Predators winning. The final period saw the Phoenix Coyotes making 10 goal attempts while the Nashville Predators made 8 goal attempts.
