New York Rangers versus Buffalo Sabres was the 218th game of 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series. It was played this Thursday at Madison Square Garden, home of Rangers. Sabres played their 17th while Rangers their 16th game
of the campaign. The match was tough right from the start and saw Rangers win 3-2 after overtime.
Rangers were quickly out off the blocks and showed some excellent skills with the puck. Their passing and shooting were both perfect. Rangers' quick and pin point passing often left the opposition stunned.
The home team scored first in the 15th minute through Ruslan Fedontenko and via a simple tip in shot that went through the legs of Sabres' goalie. Both teams came across more chances but were unable to score and the 1st period ended
with Rangers leading 1-0 as they made 14 goal attempts while Sabres made 8.

After the score being levelled, the home team attacked with all their men to regain the lead. They were successful in doing so with a goal in the final minute of 2nd period by Artem Anisimov from a powerful strike.
But, Sabres too scored with only 3 seconds remaining in the period to once again level. The goal scorer was Michael Grier. The 2nd period ended at 2-2 with Rangers making 4 goal attempts while Sabres 12.
The final period didn’t see any more goals despite the fact that both teams' made 10 goal attempts each. The period ended with the score still level at 2-2. Thus, the game went into overtime.
