2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series: Phoenix Coyotes 2-1 thrash defending champions Chicago Blackhawks
The 215th game of 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series was played this Wednesday at United Centre, home of Chicago Blackhawks. Some 21,000 fans come out in support of their teams. Phoenix Coyotes were playing their 13th while Blackhawks
their 18th game of the campaign. It was a tough battle that saw Coyotes score twice in the 2nd period, winning the match in the end by 2-1.
The home team started off spectacularly as they fired shots at the opposing goal and worked hard to come up with an early score. They were successful in taking the first lead in the 10th minute. The goal was scored by Bryan Bickell from a 38 feet
flick shot that was perfectly placed.
The 1st period also saw Coyotes trying out a few chances but they were unsuccessful in scoring. The period ended with Blackhawks leading by 1-0 as they made 14 goal attempts while Coyotes managed just 4.
The 2nd period saw Coyotes change their strategy which resulted in a goal. They levelled in the 7th minute with the goal being scored by Kyle Turris through a simple tip in shot from 19 feet.
The away team's confidence and hard work paid off once again as they took the lead by again scoring in the 9th minute. This time, the goal was scored by Eric Belanger through a powerful strike from 25 feet. With this, the 2nd period
ended at 2-1. Coyotes made 13 goal attempts while Blackhawks 12 in the period.
The final period saw home team come out with a lot of urgency to score but they couldn’t. Although, they dominated in possession and also goal attempts but still couldn’t capitalize. The match ended with Phoenix Coyotes winning by 2-1. The final period saw
