2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series – Pittsburgh Penguins thrash the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-1
On 12th of November 2010 the Pittsburgh Penguins played host to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The match was played at the CONSOL Energy Centre, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins in front of 18,000 fans. The game witnessed the Pittsburgh Penguins play
their 17th game and the Tampa Bay Lightning play their 16th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series. The 228th of the regular season saw the Pittsburgh Penguins come up with an impressive performance in the last 2 periods
to win the match 5-1.
The 1st period saw both the teams come up with a brilliant performance if we talk about defence. Neither of the team was able to get past the defence that resulted in the period ending goalless. Though there were chances but they were less and
difficult.
The defence of both teams was to cope up with any sort of pressure and attacks that the opposing team put. Resultantly, the period remained goalless with the scores deadlocked at 0-0. During the course of the period, the Tampa Bay Lightning made 3 goal attempts

The final period of the match saw the Tampa Bay Lightning score early on in the 6th minute to cut the lead to 1 goal. The goal was scored by Steven Stamkos from 29 feet through powerful strike.
The home team was content with winning the match, which resulted in the Pittsburgh Penguins playing with an attacking mentality. The Penguins were able to regain the 2 goals lead with a goal in the 13th minute. The goal was scored by Maxime Talbot
through a quick shot that went into the right corner.

strike from 33 feet.
The Penguins sealed the match with a goal in the 19th minute. The goal was scored by Deryk Engelland through a powerful strike from 56 feet. The period and the match ended with no more goals as the Pittsburgh Penguins won the match 5-1.
