Pittsburgh Penguins thrash the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2 as expected with more than 2 goals difference

The 407th game was hosted by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Consol Arena this Wednesday. The match was played between the home team as they hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs. An attendance of around 18,000 fans came to
witness the match, with the Toronto Maple Leafs playing their 27th game of the season while the Pittsburgh Penguins played their 30th. Yesterday, it was predicted that the Penguins would win the match by two goals or more which certainly
turned out to be the case as the Penguins won the match 5-2.
The home team was on the attack right from the start of the match as they fired shots and came up with some splendid pieces of play. The home team successfully got past the Maple Leafs defence but couldn’t find the back of the
goal early on.
The Penguins continued to pile pressure and the constant hard work saw them scoring in the 9th minute to take the lead of the match. The goal was scored by Sidney Crosby from a brilliant backhand shot. The home team
piled attack after attack but failed to convert these chances into goals.
The Penguins dominated much of the period with the Leafs coming up with a few shot as the period neared its end. The period ended with the Penguins leading 1-0 as they made 13 goal attempts while the Maple Leafs made just 4.
The dominance of the Pittsburgh Penguins continued in the 2nd period as they absolutely gave the away side no space to work. Coupled with this was the fact that their offence was very strong that got past the opposing
defence frequently.
The Penguins scored in the 12th minute to double their lead. The goal was scored by Pascal Dupuis from a flick shot. The Pittsburgh Penguins hard work was rewarded once again as they scored once again in the 14th
minute. This time the goal was scored by Mark Letestu.
The Penguins sealed the match according to many with the final goal of the period which they scored in the 15th minute. The goal was scored by Sidney Crosby from a quick fired shot that went quickly into the back of
the net. Though the Toronto Maple Leafs responded with a few shots at the end but they didn’t score any goals again like in the first period. The Pittsburgh Penguins led 4-0 at the end of the 2nd period.
The final period saw the away side managing to make a good start to the match as they scored in the 5th minute to keep hopes alive. The goal was scored by Tyler Bozak from a powerful backhand shot. The Toronto Maple
Leafs worked hard and scored another goal in the 9th minute to trail by 2-4. The goal was scored by Mikhail Grabovski from a powerful strike.
But the Penguins sealed the match with a goal in the 18th minute of the match. The goal was scored by Mark Letestu who bagged his second for the night. The Penguins won the match 5-2 as expected and with a difference
of more than 2 goals as predicted.
