2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series – San Jose Sharks win 6-3 against the Los Angeles Kings

The 253rd match of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series was played between the San Jose Sharks and the Los Angeles Kings which finished just moments ago. The match was played at the HP Pavilion, home of the San Jose Sharks in front of 18,000
fans. This was the 16th game of the campaign for both the teams. The match saw the San Jose Sharks start the match strongly as they scored a couple of goals to take the lead.
The 1st period of the match saw both teams start with an attacking mentality right from the word go. Their concentration was on defence rather than defence. Both the teams tried hard to score to take the lead but the early attacks were not fruitful.
However, the Los Angeles Kings scored in the 17th minute during power play taking the lead. The goal was scored by Scott Parse who scored through a spectacular backhand shot from close range.
The home team responded to this with attacks too and managed to level the score with a goal in the 19th minute of the period. The goal was scored by Rayne Clowe through a quick fired shot from 14 feet.
The San Jose Sharks regular attacks saw them taking the lead in the last minute of the period. This was the final goal of the period that was scored by Torrey Mitchell through an extravagant backhand shot from 14 feet. The period ended with the Sharks leading
2-1.
During the period, the Los Angeles Kings made 13 goal attempts while the San Jose Sharks made 10 goal attempts.
The home team carried the form and confidence into the 2nd period and attacked from the start of the period. They were successful in scoring in the 11th minute of the period through Scott Nichol’s goal that came as a result of a flick

The Los Angeles Kings were able to score a goal in the 14th minute of the period. The goal was scored by Ryan Smyth from 10 feet through a simple tip in shot. The period ended with the Sharks leading 3-2. During the 2nd period, the

The final period of the match saw the San Jose Sharks score in the 3rd minute to take the score to 4-2. The goal was scored by Patrick Marleau through a 17 feet flick shot.
The Los Angeles Kings pulled a goal back as they scored in the 9th minute through a tip in strike by Jarret Stoll. However, the Sharks continued to dominate the game scoring in the same minute. The goal was scored by Dany Heatley through a decent
strike from 44 feet. The final goal of the match was scored by Joe Pavelski through a backhand shot from 21 feet in the 17th minute.
The match and the period came to an end as the San Jose Sharks won the match 6-3. During the final period, the San Jose Sharks made 11 goal attempts while the Los Angeles Kings made 14 goal attempts.
