2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series– Tampa Bay Lightning win 8-7 against Philadelphia Flyers
The highest scoring game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series was the 271st game. The match saw the Philadelphia Flyers play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning. The match took place at the Wells Fargo Centre as 20,000 fans came to support their
respective teams.
The match was evenly poised and the score line told the story. The Philadelphia Flyers scored the first goal of the match in the 5th minute. The goal was scored by Andreas Nodi through a flick shot. The Philadelphia Flyers managed to double the
lead with another goal in the 6th minute. The goal was scored by Nikolay Zherdev through a flick shot.
The Tampa Bay Lightning responded to this with a goal in the 9th minute of the period. The goal was scored by Steven Stamkos and in the very same minute they scored once again to level the scores.
The goal was scored by Adam Hall through a flick shot that was perfectly placed. The Philadelphia Flyers were successful in regaining the lead with a goal in the 10th minute through Jeff Carter but the Tampa Bay Lightning scored once again to
level the scores. The goal was scored by Ryan Malone in the 14th minute.
As the period neared its end, the Philadelphia Flyers bagged two goals in the 17th and 19th minute to lead the match 5-3. The goals were scored by Danny Briere and Brett Clark respectively.
The period ended with the Flyers leading 5-4 as they made 13 goal attempts while the Tampa Bay Lightning made 11 goal attempts.
The 2nd period was as exciting as the 1st period and the Tampa Bay Lightning scored in the 5th minute to level the scores. The goal was scored by Steven Stamkos through a powerful strike that went flying into the back of
the net.
However, the Flyers scored 2 goals in the space of 4 minutes to lead by 2 goals. The first of the 2 goals was scored by Nikolay Zherdev in the 6th minute and the second was scored in the 10th minute by Andrej Meszaros.
Anyhow, there was another twist in the tale as the Tampa Bay Lightning scored 2 goals in the 10th and 20th minute to level the scores as the teams went into the break. The first of the two goals was scored by Steve Downie and the second
was scored by Steven Stamkos.
With the scores level at 7-7 at the start of the final period saw both the teams very nervous. There were occasional slip ups and the Tampa Bay Lightning managed to score in the 6th minute which proved to be the winning goal as the away team won
the match. The goal was scored by Nate Thompson through a flick shot as the Tampa Bay Lightning won the match 8-7.
