2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series: Toronto Maple Leafs win 5-4 against Nashville Predators
The 254th game of 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series took place at the home of Leafs this Tuesday. The match was played at the Air Canada Centre in front of 19,000 fans.
Both teams made great starts but Predators were the ones to capitalize on the chances. The first goal was scored in the 9th minute in favour of the away team. The goal scorer was J-P Dumont who scored through a powerful strike.
Predators continued to put the pressure and piled on attacks after attacks which resulted in them scoring once again in the 12th minute. This time, the goal was scored by Jordin Tootoo through another strike.
Predators scored again in the 12th minute to make it 3-0. Their third goal was scored by Martin Erat through a decent strike. The period also saw Leafs score to pull one goal back. The goal was scored by Luke Schenn through a flick shot as the
period ended 3-1. Predators made 12 goal attempts while Leafs made 11.
The 2nd period saw Predators start off strongly, scoring in the 5th minute to take to 4-1. The goal came of Marcel Goc. Leafs started to fire shots at the opposing goal after this and managed to score in the 7th minute to
pull another goal back. The goal was scored by Kris Versteeg though a well placed shot. Kris scored again in the 8th minute to trail by just one goal.
Leafs levelled in the 15th minute through Mikhail Grabvoski and via a backhand shot. They scored the final goal of the period which resulted in them leading the proceedings. The goal came of Nikolai Kulemin through a flick shot.
The period came to an end with Leafs leading 5-4 as they made 17 goal attempts compared to 8 of Predators.
The final period saw both teams come out determined to score and win the match but neither of them scored during the course of the period as Toronto Maple Leafs won the match 5-4. 
The final period saw Leafs making 5 goal attempts while Predators 14 goal attempts.
